CareerCoach Privacy Policy
CareerCoach ("the app") is a career-coaching app published by PocketAI Dev that runs its AI coaching model directly on your device. This policy explains what that means for your data.
What we don't collect
CareerCoach does not have a server. There is no backend the app talks to for coaching, resume-building, or interview practice. Specifically, the app never uploads, transmits, or stores remotely:
- The job postings you upload or paste
- Your resume content, chat messages, or conversation history with the coach
- Audio recorded during mock interview sessions
- Any document (PDF, DOCX, TXT) you provide
All of the above is processed entirely on your device by an on-device language model, and is stored, if at all, only in the app's local storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes it. We have no copy of it anywhere, because it was never sent to us.
What we do collect
The app shows banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob to remain free. AdMob and Google's advertising partners may collect:
- Advertising ID — a resettable device identifier used for ad personalization and measurement, subject to your consent (see below) and your device's ad-personalization settings.
- Standard technical data associated with serving an ad request (IP address at request time, device/OS type, coarse location derived from IP) — handled by Google, not by us directly.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information, and the app has no account system or sign-up.
Consent
In regions that require it, the app shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) before requesting any ad. You can decline non-essential ad personalization there; the app continues to work normally either way.
Network usage
The app makes network requests for exactly two things:
- A one-time AI model download on first launch, over whatever connection you choose.
- Ad requests, as described above.
No network request ever carries your job post, resume, chat, or interview content.
Data retention and deletion
Anything the app stores (your current session, resume drafts, chat history) lives in local app storage on your device only. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from Android Settings, deletes it completely and irreversibly — we hold no server-side copy to also delete.
Children's privacy
CareerCoach is a career/job-search tool intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new effective date.
